KUALA LUMPUR: Kim Hin Joo (Malaysia) Bhd (KHJ) officially opened Malaysia's first Mothercare Experience store at Tropicana Gardens Mall, Petaling Jaya.

The new 15,000 sq ft mega store features a new experiential concept, which includes a stroller test track, babywearing zone, baby gear cleaning services, and nursery advisors, promising shoppers a visual and tactile experience that will help them make better purchasing decisions.

Incorporating real-life elements allows shoppers to test out products before purchasing them properly, inspirational nursery room sets let parents envision how the new additions to their nests may look.

Managing director Pang Fu Wei said the Mothercare Experience store in Tropicana Gardens Mall is the first of its kind in the country.

"We have re-engineered our in-store experience and sales process to help mummies and daddies make better purchasing decisions. We look forward to better serving the families in our community," he said in a statement today.

The store is also hosted by Mothercare's Nursery Advisors, trained and certified in-store staff whose role is to guide parents and first-time parents and help navigate the world of baby products.

"This first-ever Mothercare Experience store in the country is part of our omnichannel strategy to improve all our consumer touchpoints. The pandemic has been very disruptive to retail, and we are trying to stay ahead of the curve by introducing new and exciting ways to engage our customers," Pang said.

"Over the next two years, we intend to roll out our experience store concept to the rest of our key stores across the country. We will also be improving our digital touchpoints and boosting our online presence to keep up with our younger and tech-savvy consumers. In addition, we are already revamping our website," he said.

Tropicana Garden Mall is KHJ's 21st Mothercare outlet and fourth The Entertainer outlet in Malaysia.
