KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI ended lower today for the fourth consecutive session as investors continued to dump their shares amid weak sentiment.
The benchmark index closed 5.38 points, or 0.35% lower at 1,512.22, its lowest since August 16, 2021. For the week, the index fell 13.32 points.
Market breadth turned negative as losers overpowered the gainers on a ratio of 993-to-195 stocks. Traded volumes, however, rose to 4.9 billion as profit taking activities took control.
Dealers said weak sentiment and the lack of fresh leads kept investors at bay. In addition, they said the recent batch of corporate earnings offered little direction.
