KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 9): Based on corporate announcements and news flow on Thursday, companies in focus on Friday (Dec 10) may include: MYEG Services Bhd, Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd, Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd, UEM Edgenta Bhd, Swift Haulage Bhd, CB Industrial Product Holding Bhd and Konsortium Transnasional Bhd.

MYEG Services Bhd said its unit MYEG Medical Services Sdn Bhd has received approval from the Health Ministry for the deployment of Breathonix's BreFence Go Covid-19 Breath Test System (BreFence Go). BreFence Go is an alternative Covid-19 screening method at the country's entry points including international airports, in accordance with the government’s prevailing policies and guidelines. The group said the deployment of BreFence Go is expected to contribute positively to its earnings and net assets for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2022 and onwards.

Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd's net profit rose 21.57% to RM105.92 million for the third quarter ended Oct 31, 2021 (3QFY22) from RM87.13 million in the immediate preceding quarter, thanks to lower net finance costs and tax expenses. Quarterly revenue declined 3.58% to RM1.02 billion on a quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q) basis from RM1.06 billion on lower subscription, advertising revenues and merchandise sales, impacted by Covid-19. On a year-on-year basis, Astro's net profit dropped 35.62% from RM164.53 million in 3QFY21, as revenue fell 7.64% from RM1.11 billion. Astro declared a third interim dividend of 1.5 sen per share to be paid on Jan 7.

The High Court has dismissed Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd’s application to recuse the presiding judge in the company's lawsuit against Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd. Justice Ahmad Fairuz ordered Serba Dinamik to pay costs of RM20,000 to Bursa, and set Jan 17 to hear the company’s interim injunction application to block the release of the factual findings update on its financials by special independent reviewer E&Y Consulting Sdn Bhd.

UEM Edgenta Bhd said on Thursday (Dec 9) that its indirect wholly-owned Edgenta Healthtronics Sdn Bhd has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) to explore potential collaboration and opportunities in the digital healthcare space. Under the MoU, UEM Edgenta will primarily work with the medical education centre that comprises private specialist centres and Pusat Pakar Perubatan UiTM (semi-government hospital) across UiTM's three campuses in Sungai Buloh, Selayang and Puncak Alam.

Integrated logistics service provider Swift Haulage Bhd’s initial public offering (IPO) to the public has been oversubscribed by 18.85 times. A total of 13,536 applications seeking 353.28 million shares were received for the 17.8 million shares made available for application by the Malaysian public, said Tricor Investor & Issuing House Services Sdn Bhd. Swift Haulage, a Retirement Fund Incorporated  (KWAP) investee, is slated to list on Bursa Malaysia’s Main Market on Dec 21.

Palm oil equipment maker CB Industrial Product Holding Bhd has decided to dispose of its 70% stake in biodiesel producer Gulf Lubes Malaysia Sdn Bhd (GLM) for RM55 million to resolve GLM's management deadlock. The group is selling the stake to India-based Kaashi Visweshwara Minerals Pvt Ltd, which is principally engaged in mining of iron ores.

Konsortium Transnasional Bhd (KTB) has secured an RM26.45 million contract to build 59 units of shophouses in Perak from United Allied Development Sdn Bhd. KTB said the contract, secured via its wholly-owned unit Transnational Builder Sdn Bhd, involves piling, building works, internal and external infrastructure works for the shophouses at PT10687, Mukim of Bidor, Daerah Batang Padang.
