Auto players offer flood relief assistance to affected customers

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 23): Several auto players have announced relief assistance to customers affected by the recent flood by giving out discounts and aids. 

They include Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (Modenas), Honda Malaysia, Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM), Proton Holdings Bhd and Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. 

Modenas is offering a free motorcycle service for flood victims through the “Kempen Servis Prihatin MODENAS”.

The service is aimed at owners of Modenas motorcycles that have been severely damaged by the flash floods in Selangor and Pahang. It is provided at selected Modenas service centres namely in Shah Alam and Kuantan until Dec 31.

“Through the campaign, the company seeks to provide some ray of hope for the Modenas owners, a chance in reviving their motorcycles back in working condition,” the company said in a statement.

Among the services offered under the emergency flood relief service campaign are free labour charges for normal repairs, free inspection, free bike cleaning, up to 25% discount on all moped, streetbike and sports tourer parts, up to 15% discount on scooter parts, and up to 70% discount on labour charge for repairs that involve overhaul. 

Honda Malaysia has also announced a flood relief programme, offering Honda car owners whose cars were affected by the floods a 25% discount on genuine parts. 

The programme, which runs until Jan 31, also supports the repair services for the affected customers in flood-stricken areas. 

Honda Malaysia said affected customers are advised to visit any of the Honda authorised dealers for assessment process and inspection service.

“We hope that with the rolling out of this Flood Relief Programme, we can help to relieve the burden of our valued customers,” said Honda Malaysia managing director and CEO Madoka Chujo in a statement.

Meanwhile, ECTM together with Tan Chong Ekspres Auto Servis Sdn Bhd have announced a special Nissan flood relief assistance programme for customers impacted by the flash floods, which includes a 20% discount on parts and labour charges. 

On top of that, special upholstery restoration prices are available at RM1,655 net for sedan vehicles and RM1,988 net for MPVs, SUVs, pick-ups and vans, ECTM said in a statement. 

Proton said it is offering a 20% discount on selected parts as well as a 20% discount on labour charges for all customers affected by the floods who have lodged a police report on the incident.

In a statement, the national carmaker also said towing charges of up to RM200 as well as cleaning charges for the exterior and engine bay of up to RM100 will be borne by the company.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia said its flood relief assistance programme for customers affected by the floods includes a discount of up to 30% for all parts repair, free vehicle towing by authorised dealerships, and a free evaluation of all necessary repair costs

Valid until Jan 31, 2022, the programme also offers a 0% interest easy payment plan.
