TH Heavy inks collaboration deal to vie for mega infrastructure jobs

KUALA LUMPUR (March 16): TH Heavy Engineering Bhd (THHE) has inked a strategic collaboration agreement with SMHB Sdn Bhd (SMHB), a mega infrastructure engineering consultant, to jointly undertake future development projects.

In a statement Tuesday (March 15), THHE said the agreement was to leverage on the technical capabilities and experience of SMHB.

It said the strategic collaboration agreement aims to build up capabilities and capacity, particularly in the areas of project management, project planning, design, engineering and construction of water treatment plants and waste management plants.

The company said this weill enable it to offer attractive and compelling technical and commercial solutions for future water, wastewater, flood mitigation and highway infrastructure requirements entailed in the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK-12) and beyond.

THHE chief executive officer Ahmad Yusof Mohamad said there has been steady growth in the development sector as the nation moves into the endemic phase and he was optimistic that momentum will continue to ramp up.

“Given our corporate framework, this will provide us with a competitive edge to ensure timely delivery of projects while safeguarding national interest,” he said.

Meanwhile, SMHB executive director Syed Mohamed Adnan said with THHE’s strategic positioning and forthcoming regularisation plan, he was confident of the skillset and technical know how it has to offer given its foundation in engineering.

"We look forward to exploring potential prospects for both parties while leveraging on each other’s strengths.”
