KUALA LUMPUR (April 25): Jadi Imaging Holdings Bhd has received conditional approval from the the Ministry of Health (MoH) to distribute Covid-19 Antigen self-test kits (saliva) manufactured by Dyna Source Sdn Bhd in Malaysia.

In a bourse filing on Monday (April 25), Jadi said the conditional approval, received via its wholly-owned subsidiary Jadi Life Solutions Sdn Bhd, is from the Medical Device Authority (MDA) under MoH for the distribution of Dyna Source's Biodetect Rapid Sars Cov-2 Antigen test kits.

Dyna Source is a registered company with MDA and holds a Good Distribution Practice for Medical Devices certification.

"Biodetect Rapid Sars Cov-2 Antigen test kit allows faster and more accurate screening of individuals. It is more user-friendly as it uses saliva specimens as opposed to the rapid antigen tests which use nasopharyngeal swabs to collect “nasal” specimens which may cause discomfort," said Jadi.

"The board of Jadi is of the opinion that the distribution and supply of the said Covid-19 Antigen self-test kits (saliva) is in the best interest of the company after considering its business potential in the prevailing Covid-19 self-test public awareness and support by the government as an important initiative to combat the spread of Covid-19 infections," said Jadi.

"The conditional approval from MDA for the distribution of the test kits will not have material impact on the group's financial position for the financial year ending March 31, 2023," it added.

Jadi shares closed up one sen or 10.53% at 10 sen on Monday, bringing a market capitalisation of RM107.38 million.
