PETALING JAYA: The growth prospects for the exchange-traded fund (ETF) industry in Malaysia remain positive, with demand for the instrument seen picking up steadily in tandem with rising awareness among investors of the benefits of investing in ETFs.
Amid the increasingly volatile market environment, which compels investors to further expand their diversification strategies, ETFs serve as an efficient alternative to manage wealth, according to Chong Lee Choo, (pic) director of director of ETF and innovation lab at Affin Hwang Asset Management.
“With financial markets experiencing shorter and sharper cycles, diversification has proven to be the optimum strategy for investors to weather market volatility by smoothening portfolio returns. ETFs offer a convenient method for investors as building blocks to construct a globally diversified portfolio at minimal cost,” she told StarBiz.
