KUALA LUMPUR: Prolexus Bhd has appointed Datuk Au Yee Boon as the new executive director and Datuk Low Chin Koon as an independent director.

The company, in a statement, welcomed both Au and Low to the board and is confident that their profound experience and leadership qualities will be instrumental in ensuring the company's continued leadership within the apparel business segment.

Au is a business entrepreneur with a strong track record in the information technology (IT) industry.

He was the founder and chief executive officer of Techbase Solution Sdn Bhd, an MSC status company specialising in IT solutions.

Au has also demonstrated strong leadership qualities as the executive director of YB Ventures Bhd (YVB).

Since his appointment in 2020, YBV has recorded a strong turnaround in its earnings and charted a new growth trajectory.

"I am excited about the prospect of leading Prolexus in my capacity as the company's new executive director.

"Prolexus is one of the leaders in the apparel business segment, and I look forward to ensuring the company's continued leadership.

"I believe that we will be able to embark on a new growth trajectory with the great teamwork that we have.

"I look forward to working together to take Prolexus to new heights of success," Au said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Low is also the independent director of Mestron Holdings Bhd.

Prolexus manufactures apparel, face mask, textile and advertising services.

Prolexus managed to maintain its profitability at RM17.2 million at the back of its revenue of RM227.5 million despite the Covid-19 pandemic during FY21.

While the company's apparel division contributed 93.4 per cent of Prolexus' total revenue in FY21, Prolexus is expanding its income stream with the recently launched 'Arumn', a crafted modest wear brand for women.

Aside from that, Prolexus owns the 'PowerScreen' brand and is the first outdoor digital screen operator in Malaysia.

This is under the company's advertising division, which is expected to see a strong momentum recovery in the post-Covid era.
