| The amended announcement is made to rectify the announcement made on 24 February 2006 in respect of the second interim tax-exempt dividend of 30% for the financial year ended 31 December 2005, declared and approved by the Board on 24 February 2006 which should not be included in the financial statements for the financial year ended 31 December 2005. This dividend will be accounted for in the shareholders’ equity as an appropriation of retained earnings in the financial year ending 31 December 2006. Pursuant to the above, the following items of the announcement have been amended:- (a) The dividend per share for the current year quarter and current year to date; (b) The net assets per share as at end of current quarter; (c) The retained profits and dividend payable amount in the consolidated balance sheet as at 31 December 2005; (d) The retained profits amount in the statement of changes in equity; and (e) Note B11 in respect of disclosure on dividends. The above rectifications affects the financial statements of the Company only and does not affect the quantum and payment of dividend to the shareholders as declared and announced on 24 February 2006. |
