KUALA LUMPUR: LBS Foundation, the corporate social responsibility division of LBS Bina Group Berhad, has sponsored the construction of Petaling Jaya's Dewan Jaya LBS, the Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Hall.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held today, officiated by the Chief of Police for Selangor, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, and witnessed by the LBS Foundation Board of Trustees, Tan Sri Ir Dr Lim Hock San.

The occasion also marked the passing of the "Baton of Command" from departing ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin Bin Abdul Hamid to incoming ACP Shahrulnizam Bin Ja'afar @ Ismail, as well as the ceremony for the new official leading the district police.

Lim said that Dewan Jaya LBS is a testament to the LBS Foundation's commitment to community development and support for the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).

It will function as a multipurpose space for a range of police-related events, including official gatherings, training sessions, social gatherings, and leisure pursuits.

"Our efforts today with PDRM hold strong significance for me both personally and historically. It is completely meaningful and memorable, as this charity support and collaboration with our respectable law enforcement were originally initiated by my late father, Datuk Seri Lim Bock Seng," he said.

Lim said that what began as humble donations and charity efforts years ago has now evolved into a vital aspect of the foundation's core principles, where it is now a strong commitment not just for me but for the entire team to continuously raise awareness through education, community engagement, environmental, and healthcare initiatives for the community regardless.

"As for today's event, we sincerely hope that this initiative will greatly benefit the police community, and we shall, in fact, continue our commitment to contribute as much as we can in the future through our foundation," he said.
