Sarawak Cable plans to pare down borrowings
It is in talks to sell unit APL which operates helicopter services
KUCHING: Sarawak Cable Bhd (SCB) is in talks with two parties on the potential sale of its wholly-owned unit – Aerial Power Lines Sdn Bhd (APL) – or several helicopters owned by the latter.
The sales of APL, a non-core asset of SCB, is part of plans to reduce the group’s borrowings and gearing level.
Group managing director and chief executive director Aaron Toh Chee Ching (pic) said the proposal was to sell APL or dispose of four helicopters, the biggest of which can transport 19 passengers which was previously used for the oil and gas industry.
