Cabnet refutes rumours about RM173m police lock-up CCTV job

KUALA LUMPUR: Cabnet Holdings Bhd has refuted rumours about its subsidiary securing a RM173mil contract to provide close circuit television (CCTV) system for police lock-ups nationwide.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia on Thursday it said news and documents have been circulating on social media platforms (i.e. WhatsApp) alluding to news Cabnet Systems (M) Sdn Bhd had received a letter of award from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The contract claimed was for Cabnet Systems to supply, install, test, commission and maintain CCTV system, lift access system and door access system for police lock-ups nationwide.

“The board wishes to clarify that the news is fake and has no basis and that the Company has not been awarded any such contract, ” it said.
