Mr. Tan Thong Guan is a highly experienced construction and energy executive with approximately 2 decades of progressive leadership across complex projects and international operations.
He joined JS Solar Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JS Solar Holding Berhad ("the Company"), in February 2024 as Head of Large Scale Solar, and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the Company effective October 2025. In this pivotal strategic role, he oversees the Company's operations, ensures effective strategy implementation and provides key support to the Managing Director.
His career is marked by his involvement in the following high-value, large-scale projects, most notably in the rapidly expanding solar energy sector:
(a) Solarvest Holdings Berhad and its subsidiaries (May 2021-Jan 2024): As a Project Manager, he led the execution and commissioning of a 50MW Large Scale Solar (LSS4) plant by the end of 2023.
(b) JS Solar Sdn Bhd (Feb 2024-Present): Upon joining, he was tasked with leading the Kulim 50MWac solar PV EPCC project in consortium with Samaiden Group Berhad and its subsidiaries.
Prior to specialising in renewable energy, Mr. Tan built a robust foundation in traditional construction management across Southeast Asia. He gained valuable international operations experience in Bangkok, Thailand, serving as Quantity Surveyor (May 2006-Dec 2009) before advancing to Operations Manager at an international construction firm (Jan 2010-Apr 2014). Returning to Malaysia, he served as Senior Project Manager at Intiga Sdn Bhd (May 2014-Jun 2016), followed by 5 years as Project Manager for a construction firm within the Panasonic Group (Jul 2016-Mar 2021), demonstrating his expertise in delivering high-standard corporate projects.
Mr. Tan's unique blend of hands-on engineering expertise, international management experience, and proven capability in delivering large-scale renewable energy projects, make him an invaluable asset to the Company's executive leadership. |
