| Working experience and occupation | Dato' Seri Gooi's career began in 1985 at Hewlett-Packard ("HP"), where he rose through the ranks to become the Manufacturing Manager of the Wireless Semiconductor Division. Following HP's 1999 spin-off of Agilent Technologies, he held senior leadership roles including Senior Vice President and later President of Order Fulfillment and Supply Chain for Agilent's Electronic Measurement, Life Sciences, and Chemical Analysis businesses.
In 2014, when Agilent spun off its Electronic Measurement business to form Keysight Technologies (NYSE: KEYS), Dato' Seri Gooi transitioned to the new entity, where he held multiple executive roles. These included President of the Electronic Industrial Solutions Group (EISG), President of Order Fulfillment and Infrastructure, and President of Order Fulfillment and Digital Software Solutions. In these capacities, he was instrumental in establishing Keysight's leadership in semiconductor, automotive, and general electronics markets, as well as advancing its capabilities in electronic design automation, simulation, and test solutions. He also oversaw global operations encompassing order fulfillment, procurement, materials, and IT. Dato' Seri Gooi retired from Keysight Technologies in October 2025, concluding a remarkable 40-year career spanning HP, Agilent, and Keysight.
Beyond his corporate roles, he served on the Board of Directors of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) from 2012 to 2018, contributing to Malaysia's industrial and investment development agenda.
He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board at Frencken Group Limited ("Frencken"), a public listed company on the Singapore Exchange ("SGX"), and as an Independent Non-Executive Director at SkyeChip Berhad. Under his leadership, Frencken was recognised with the Best Managed Board Award at the Singapore Corporate Awards (SCA) 2019, reflecting his commitment to governance excellence and board effectiveness. |
