Tenaga Nasional Berhad ("TNB") wishes to announce that the Company has signed an Energy Wheeling Agreement Phase 2 ("EWA Phase 2") under the Lao PDR-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore Power Integration Project Phase 2 (“LTMS 2.0”) framework.

EWA Phase 2 enables the sale, transmission and purchase of electrical energy at a minimum of 30MW up to 100MW from Lao PDR to Singapore through Thailand and Malaysia using the existing interconnection facilities of the participating countries. This agreement will be effective for a period of two (2) years beginning from the signing date 14 January 2026.

The role of TNB under the EWA Phase 2 is to wheel or transmit energy generated from Lao PDR to Singapore, with Electricite Du Laos paying wheeling charges to TNB for the wheeling services. This arrangement completes the full implementation of LTMS 2.0 together with the previously inked Energy Supply Agreement between TNB and Keppel Electric PTE. Ltd on 20 September 2024 for Malaysia to also supply electricity to Singapore under the same LTMS 2.0 framework.

The signing of the EWA Phase 2 will not have any effect on the issued and paid-up share capital and the substantial shareholders’ shareholdings of TNB and will have a neutral impact on the earnings of TNB over the term of the EWA Phase 2.

None of the Directors or Major Shareholders of TNB and/or persons connected with them has any interest, direct or indirect, in relation to the abovementioned EWA Phase 2.
