Mr Goay Ngee Chiew has over 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services, specialising in credit risk management, restructuring, and overall risk oversight. He was previously the Chief Risk Officer of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad, where he was responsible for the overall risk management framework and ensuring effective identification and management of key risks.

He previously served as the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of the same institution from 2022 to 2024, overseeing both risk and compliance functions.

Prior to that, he was with Danajamin Nasional Berhad for more than 10 years, where he held senior roles including Chief Risk Officer and Director of Risk Management. During this time, he was responsible for managing enterprise-wide risks, credit evaluation, portfolio monitoring, and corporate recovery, as well as supporting national initiatives such as a government guarantee scheme.

Earlier in his career, he spent about 12 years with HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad in various risk management roles, including Senior Regional Credit Manager, where he was involved in evaluating and approving credit proposals, managing high-risk accounts, and conducting risk assessments.
