Dato' Ramli bin Haji Din has over 35 years of distinguished service in law enforcement and national security, having served in the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) from 1987 until his retirement in 2022 as Commissioner of Police. He began his career in the Royal Malaysia Police in 1987 and rose through the ranks to assume key command and policy-making appointments at both state and federal levels.

His leadership roles included Secretary of the Royal Malaysia Police, Chief Police Officer of Melaka, Commissioner of Police of Sabah and Sarawak, Director of Narcotics, Director of Management, Director of Crime Prevention and Community Safety, and Head of Research and Development.
