Datuk Shazril Imri bin Mokhtar brings with him over 30 years of experience in telecommunications, strategy and business transformation, with extensive leadership experience in managing profit and loss (P&L) businesses as well as driving large-scale organisational change. He was appointed as Managing Director (MD)/Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) and Non-Independent Executive Director of Telekom Malaysia Berhad on 1 August 2020. Datuk Shazril Imri previously served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Telekom Malaysia, where he was responsible for overseeing the business operations of the TM Group with a focus on unifi, TM One and TM Global, as well as spearheading the Performance Improvement Programme. During his tenure as COO, he also served as Acting Group Chief Executive Officer from 16 November 2018 until 13 June 2019.

Prior to his appointment as COO, he was the Executive Vice President (EVP) of unifi. He first started his career with Telekom Malaysia in 1996 and re-joined the company in 2005, where he held various senior leadership roles including Vice President (VP), Programme and Performance Management Office and EVP, Consumer. Prior to re-joining Telekom Malaysia, he was with a pay-TV operator in Malaysia and earlier served as a management consultant with a global consulting firm.

Subsequently, he briefly served as Chief Operations Officer of Celcom Axiata Berhad in 2020 before returning to Telekom Malaysia and assumed the role of Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Telekom Malaysia, where he led the company's transformation agenda, delivering strong financial performance, organisational agility and customer-centric initiatives across the Group.

He is currently the Group Technology & Transformation Officer of Al-Bukhary Group, where he leads the development of the conglomerate's technology vision and enterprise-wide digitalisation strategy, including the adoption of artificial intelligence to drive value creation.
