Datuk Seri Dr. Hajah Zurainah Musa is a former Senator in the Dewan Negara (Upper House) of the Malaysian Parliament and a former member of the Economic Action Council, the nation's highest economic advisory body chaired by the Prime Minister. Her strategic vision and leadership extend across government, corporate, and academic domains.
She currently serves as a Director of UZMA Berhad, a public-listed entity in the oil and gas sector, and as a board member of the Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB). Additionally, she contributes as a member of the Advisory Council for MAHSA University's Haniffa Business School and the Chairman of the KNKV Group, an advertising, marketing & creative agency. Her previous corporate leadership includes her role as Executive Director of Berjaya Corporation Berhad, where she was the head of Berjaya Corporation's Strategic Relations Department. In that role, she spearheaded strategic relations, explored new business opportunities, negotiated high-value ventures, and maintained critical government and corporate partnerships.
Datuk Seri Dr. Hajah Zurainah's governance expertise is evident from her tenure as a director for key organizations, including the Lembaga Penduduk Dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (2020-2022), Boustead Holdings Berhad (2020-2023), and the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (2013-2018). She also served as Chairman of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) in 2022. Beyond corporate and government roles, she is actively engaged in various non-governmental organizations.
With over 25 years of professional experience, she has excelled in human resource management, networking, and negotiations across Malaysia, Australia, the United States, Indonesia, and the Middle East. Her contributions include designing and implementing impactful training programs, providing expert consultancy in human resource development, and fostering organizational excellence.
