We refer to several media reports which appeared on 6 May 2021, that the Company has, through its subsidiary Subang Skypark Sdn Bhd (“SSSB”), proposed to the Ministry of Transport to “acquire and operate” Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (formerly known as and referred to herein as “Subang Airport”).

The Board of Directors of the Company wishes to clarify that the proposal is to re-concession, and not to acquire, Subang Airport and to operate the same under a lease whereby the Government will continue to own the land and Subang Airport. The proposal is currently at a concept paper stage which SSSB submitted to the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, on 1 March 2021. Submission of concept papers to related Government ministries is a common practice as WCT is always proactively on the lookout for new business opportunities which will benefit the country and the community where we operate. The proposal is still preliminary.
