| Working experience and occupation | He is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Downstream Business, PETRONAS. He is responsible for the refining, manufacturing, trading and marketing of crude oil, petroleum, and petrochemicals products. Prior to this role, he was the Senior Vice President and MD/CEO of PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG). Under his seven-year leadership from 2014 to 2021, PCG recorded growth in sales volume by 37% and market capitalisation by 64% in commodities and specialty chemicals from 52 subsidiaries with 24 production plants location in Malaysia, the Netherlands, Canada, Singapore and Germany. Throughout his 30-year career in PETRONAS, his leadership led to notable achievements including the project completion and commercial operations of the Kertih Aromatics Complex, the expansion of PETRONAS' Melaka refinery as well as leading said team to achieve top quartile plant performance on the Solomon Benchmarking. He also spearheaded PCG's ESG efforts leading to the group being ranked among the top 10 of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (Chemicals Sector). |
