We refer to our earlier announcements dated 22 April 2015, 14 April 2016 and 12 October 2017 in relation to our Group internal restructuring process involving the transfer of the family retakaful and general retakaful businesses from MNRB Retakaful Berhad (“MRT”) to Malaysian Reinsurance Berhad (“Malaysian Re”), both wholly-owned subsidiaries of MNRB Holdings Berhad (“Business Transfer”).

The Board of Directors of MNRB Holdings Berhad is pleased to announce that the said Business Transfer will take place on 1 December 2017. From that date onwards, the retakaful business of the Group will be carried out by Malaysian Re, through its Retakaful Division. MRT’s Retakaful licence will also be surrendered to Bank Negara Malaysia on the same date.  As MRT will no longer be a licensed Retakaful Operator, its name will also be changed to Sinar Seroja Berhad upon completion of the relevant process.
