| Working experience and occupation | Datuk Norlija is currently the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development, Sabah since June 2022. Prior to that, she was the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Development) of the Ministry of Finance, Sabah. She has over 32 years of experience as a public service officer in various state ministries and departments. She began her career in the year 1991 as Executive Officer in the Ministry of Local Government and Housing. After three (3) years of service, she was transferred to the Public Service Department. In 1998, she was assigned to the Chief Minister's Department and later to the Ministry of Infrastructure Development in 2002. She had served briefly in the Sabah State Islamic Affairs Department (JHEAINS) in 2006. In 2007, she was transferred to the Railway Department as Administrative Officer until 2011 when she returned to the Ministry of Infrastructure Development where she served until August 2020. |
