In October 2014, Mr Lim Sui Yuan ("Mr Lim") moved to Ernst & Young in Houston, United States of America ("USA") to assume the role of Assurance Manager. During his time at Ernst & Young USA, he was the manager in charge of leading the component team audit for the integrated audit of a US listed group, in compliance with Public Company Accounting Oversight Board ("PCAOB") auditing standards. He was also the manager in charge of the component team reporting to Ernst & Young Austria for the group audit of a multinational company. In May 2016, Mr Lim relocated to Ernst & Young Malaysia as an Assurance Senior Manager, leading audits for large multinational and local listed conglomerates.
Prior to his appointment at Star Media Group, Mr Lim was the Finance Controller in Peninsula Hibiscus Sdn. Bhd., a key business unit of Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad, with its principal activity being the exploration and production sector of the oil and gas industry. His roles included all finance areas relating to Production Sharing Contracts compliance and reporting, group and corporate financial reporting, taxation, treasury and administrative functions. Before that, Mr Lim held the position of Asset Controller in the Group Finance department of Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad from March 2018 to March 2022, covering areas of reporting, financial due diligence, corporate finance, planning, taxation and treasury. |
