Datuk Leong Kam Weng is an Advocate and Solicitor of the Malaysian Bar. He is currently the Joint Managing Partner of Messrs Iza Ng Yeoh & Kit, a law firm in Kuala Lumpur, which he joined as a partner in 1999.

Datuk Leong graduated with a Bachelor of Economics Degree and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Monash University, Australia. He is a Fellow of CPA Australia and a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He is also a certified mediator on the panel of the Malaysian Mediation Centre. He is a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board of the Malaysian Bar.

Datuk Leong is well-versed in corporate and securities laws, corporate acquisitions, business mergers, corporate governance, guidelines and regulations of the Securities Commission of Malaysia and Bursa Malaysia. He has presented papers at seminars and conferences within and outside Malaysia.

Datuk Leong was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1989 and was in legal practice for 3 years, after which he joined TA Enterprise Berhad in February 1992 as the Group Legal Manager. He was the Vice President of International Division of TA Enterprise Berhad from November 1993 to October 1995. Between November 1995 to February 1997, he held the position of General Manager cum Director of Credit Leasing Corporation Sdn Bhd. He also held the post of Executive Director of TA Bank of Philippines, Inc from March 1997 to June 1998. He returned to Malaysia in 1998 upon being promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer of TA Securities Berhad, the flagship company of the TA Group. During his tenure with the TA Group, he was also appointed as director of various subsidiaries of the TA Group. From June 1998 to July 1999, he was the Chief Executive Officer of TA Securities Berhad.
