The Board of Directors of Cengild Medical wishes to announce that on 13 October 2023, the integrity of the information technology (“IT”) system used by the medical centre operated by our subsidiary, Cengild Sdn Bhd (“Cengild”) was compromised, and that this has, resulted in a data breach. This breach may have included leakage of Cengild’s patients’ information.

We have taken immediate and comprehensive actions to contain the breach and to minimise the potential impact to our patients. A police report has been filed, and a formal report was made to the relevant authorities. There was no impact on the provision of medical services, and no disruption to patient care.

The Company wishes to inform that Cengild will continue to closely monitor the situation while conducting further assessments on the IT framework and security systems. The Company shall also continue to reinforce and put in place a continuous assessment of our data security framework, policies, systems, and procedures, to ensure that they meet global standards so as to prevent any future recurrences.

The Company also wishes to inform that there was no operational or financial impact to the Company arising from this incident.
