His first 12 years as an Auditor was in the United Kingdom, where he trained and qualified with Touche Ross & Co, London and eventually became Partner at Hacker Young, London, a medium-sized International Accounting Firm. He returned to Malaysia in 1989 to join Price Waterhouse (PW) as an Audit Partner. He was later appointed Partner-in-charge of PWs Management Consulting Practice and joined the six-member Executive Board of the firm. He played key roles in PWs Regional Privatisation and Corporate Finance assignments.In 1994, he founded Norush Sdn Bhd, an investment holding and business advisory firm, where remains as Chairman.

In several corporate restructuring assignments for Public Listed Companies, he assumed executive positions as follows:
1. Managing Director & CEO; Mithril Berhad, a Group comprising businesses manufacturing materials, such as bricks and architectural mouldings, for the construction industry. (2007  2010);
2. Managing Director & CEO; Malaysian Assurance Alliance Berhad, a Composite Insurer, offering life and general insurance products. (2000  2002);
3. Managing Director & CEO; Rahman Hydraulic Tin Berhad; a Group with businesses in Property Development, Plantations and Tin Mining. (1997  1998)
4. Chairman of MAINS (Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Sembilan) Corporation (2021- present)
