ABANG YUSUF BIN ABANG PUTEH was appointed Senior Vice President of LNG Assets (SVP LNGA), Gas & Maritime Business, PETRONAS in June 2022. In this role, he leads the management and strategic direction of PETRONAS' LNG assets, ensuring their safe and reliable operations while expanding the company's global portfolio through various LNG projects.
 
Prior to his current position, Abang Yusuf was appointed as Vice President of LNG Assets in April 2021, overseeing key milestones including the 12,000th cargo from PETRONAS LNG Complex, 500th cargo from Gladstone LNG, 50th cargo from PFLNG Satu, and turning Egypt LNG from loss to profit. 

He was also Head of Plant Development for Pacific NorthWest LNG (PNWLNG), and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PETRONAS Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (PFLNG) Satu, leading the world's first successful relocation of a floating LNG plant from Sarawak to Sabah. 

With over 25 years of experience at PETRONAS, Abang Yusuf began his career at Malaysia LNG Sdn. Bhd. (MLNG) in Bintulu. His professional journey has seen him assume leading roles in several local and international key capital projects, such as SHELL Hazira LNG (SHLNG) in India, PETRONAS LNG 9 Sdn. Bhd. (PL9SB) in Bintulu, and PETRONAS Floating LNG Dua (PFLNG Dua). He was also a part of the Portfolio Intervention and Transition (PIT) Crew under the office of the PETRONAS President & Chief Executive Officer.

Abang Yusuf holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from University Kebangsaan Malaysia and recently completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
