KUALA LUMPUR: Lagenda Properties Bhd has broken ground of its inaugural township in Selangor that it claims will be the first large-scale landed Rumah Selangorku project.

The Lagenda Ardea township will be developed in partnership with Selangor state government's wholly-owned Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Bhd, according to Lagenda Properties.

The groundbreaking ceremony, held last Friday in Bernam Jaya, Hulu Selangor, was officiated by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

Spanning 191 acres, Lagenda Ardea will be developed in three phases, delivering a total of 2,340 homes priced below RM250,000. The first phase, comprising 831 single-storey terraced houses, is slated for launch this month.

Lagerda properties managing director Datuk Jimmy Doh expressed his enthusiasm about the project.

"Lagenda Ardea embodies our commitment to creating sustainable and vibrant communities that enhance the quality of life for residents. With established developments in Perak,

Kedah, and Johor, our entry into Selangor marks our presence in a fourth state.

"This expansion underscores our vision of becoming the preferred affordable housing developer nationwide, bringing us closer to our goal."

Doh added that the company had received tremendous responses with sell-out projects in its expansion into Kedah and Johor, and he is optimistic about replicating this success in Selangor.

Lagenda Properties plans to launch over 8,000 units of affordable homes nationwide this year, more than doubling the figure from 2023.

It aims to establish a presence in Pahang by year-end, bringing its reach to five states.

"This nationwide presence enables Lagenda Properties to cater to a wider range of homebuyers and contribute significantly to addressing the housing needs of B40 and M40 communities across Malaysia," it said.
