KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 12): Lianson Fleet Group Bhd (KL:LFG) has disposed of another anchor-handling tug and supply vessel for a cash consideration of US$10 million (RM40.65 million) to a buyer based in the United Arab Emirates.

This latest transaction marks the group’s fourth vessel disposal since April 2025. Between April and September last year, Lianson sold three similar vessels, generating total proceeds of US$21.15 million.

In a bourse filing on Monday (Jan 12), the company said its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Icon Piai 1 (L) Inc, sold the vessel Yinson Hermes — a Malaysian-flagged DP-1 Anchor Handling Tug & Supply (AHTS) built in 2015, with a deadweight tonnage of 1,300 tonnes.

Lianson said the disposal is part of its ongoing fleet rejuvenation programme, aimed at modernising and replacing assets to meet evolving oil and gas industry demands.

It also supports the group’s rebranding and long-term strategy to diversify beyond its traditional role as a pure-play offshore support vessel (OSV) operator and to expand into other vessel classes.

Proceeds from the sale will be utilised for general corporate purposes and to fund future growth initiatives, Lianson said.

By the midday break on Monday, shares in Lianson rose eight sen or 4% to RM2.08, valuing the group at RM2.39 billion. Over the past year, the stock has more than doubled from 99.5 sen.
