KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 28): OCK Group Bhd’s (KL:OCK) subsidiary OCK Datawave Sdn Bhd has entered into a distributorship agreement with Fujikura Ltd, a Japanese manufacturer specialising in advanced optical fibre cable systems and connectivity solutions.

In a statement on Wednesday, the telecommunications network solutions provider and regional tower company said the agreement will take effect from January 2026 and will be valid until December.

Under this agreement, OCK will distribute Fujikura’s wrapping tube cable solutions carrying a wide variety of related accessories, enabling the group to further strengthen its supply chain capabilities and broaden its product offerings across the diverse business segments that it operates in, it added.

It said Fujikura will retain the right to modify product specifications and provide consistent updates on newly developed products to ensure continuous technological advancements from one of the leading fibre optic manufacturers.

“The collaboration aligns with OCK’s ongoing commitment to supporting Malaysia’s accelerating fibre roll-out and network upgrading initiatives.

“With expanding demand for high-performance fibre infrastructure driven by smart city, data centre, artificial intelligence adoption, enterprise digitalisation and 5G implementation, the addition of Fujikura’s optical cable solutions further enhances the group’s value proposition as an end-to-end digital and telecommunications solutions provider,” it said.
