We refer to the Company’s announcement dated 5 January 2026. Subsequently, CIMB Investment Bank Berhad ("CIMB IB") has filed and served its Defence to the Plaintiffs on 6 March 2026. 

On the same date, CIMB IB’s solicitors were served with a copy of the Defence and Counterclaim by Maju Lingkaran Development Sdn. Bhd., Maju Holdings Sdn. Bhd., Tan Sri Abu Sahid Bin Mohamed, Puan Sri Noor Azrina Binti Mohd Azmi and Mohd Faiq Bin Abu Sahid (collectively, “Maju Counterclaiming Group”) seeking from CIMB IB and other parties that in the event Maju Counterclaiming Group is found liable:

(i) An order for indemnity for such liability;

(ii) Alternatively, an order for contribution for such liability, as the court deems just and equitable;

(iii) An order for indemnity for damages, interest and costs payable by the Maju Counterclaiming Group in the Suit;

(iv) An order for indemnity for all legal costs and expenses incurred in defending the Suit; and

(v) Interests and costs ( “the Counterclaim”).

CIMB IB is defending the Counterclaim and remains confident that it had at all material times performed its duties and obligations in its various capacities in accordance with standards prescribed by law and contractually.  The Counterclaim is not expected to have material operational or financial impact on the Company.
