CLARIFICATION OF ARTICLE IN FOCUS MALAYSIA DATED MAY 28 -  JUNE 3, 2016

Reference is made to the Article titled “Non-disclosure raises transparency issue” appeared on page 22 of Focus Malaysia dated May 28 – June 3, 2016.

The Board of Directors of Bright Packaging Industry Berhad (“the Company”) wishes to clarify that to the best of their knowledge and after having made due enquiries with the major shareholder of the Company, Wong SK Holdings Sdn Bhd (“WHSB”), it has been advised by WHSB that it has no intention to take the Company private and that the shareholding held by WHSB of 32.19% as disclosed in the Company’s 2015 Annual Report is correct. WHSB had subsequently from 6-11 April 2016 acquired additional 561,700 shares in the Company which increased its shareholding to 32.53% as per the announcement made to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 12 April 2016. The Company will ensure that immediate announcement is made in the event if WHSB triggers the obligation to undertake a mandatory general offer.
