’s (AirAsia X) seat capacity surged by over 26 times year-on-year (y-o-y) to 818,422 seats in the second quarter of 2023 (2Q 2023) from 30,537 seats in 2Q 2022.
In a statement today, it said the increase was due to additional aircraft brought to service and the expansion of its network.
"The company has also demonstrated significant operational improvement across all other key metrics, achieving a passenger load factor (PLF) of 76 per cent in 2Q 2023, compared to 29 per cent in 2Q 2022,” it said.
AirAsia X reported that its operations have normalised over the past 12 months, as its available seat kilometres (ASK) capacity grew 25 times y-o-y to 3.51 billion.
