Maypak shares to be suspended on Dec 14
PETALING JAYA: Taisei Lamick Co Ltd’s offer to take private Malaysia Packaging Industry Bhd (Maypak), a food packaging manufacturer, has closed.
As of the closing date yesterday, the Japanese plastic-film packaging materials manufacturer held 90.81% of the total issued and paid-up share capital of Maypak.
Accordingly, Bursa Securities would suspend the trading of Maypak shares upon the expiry of five market days from the closing date. The suspension of Maypak shares would be effective on Dec 14.
Taisei emerged as the largest shareholder in Maypak in July after acquiring a 54.95% stake for 16.6 sen per share from Toyo Seikan Co Ltd in an RM3.8mil cash deal.
