Quick take: Careplus shares decline despite 214% rise in Q1 profit

KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of Careplus Group Bhd slipped over 5% in early trade Tuesday despite a positive first quarter earnings report.

The glovemaker fell 5.52%, or nine sen to RM1.54. It is one of the most actively traded counters on Bursa Malaysia with 26 million shares traded.

Careplus saw its first quarter net profit more than triple to RM1.14mil, from RM363,000 a year earlier, on higher revenue and lower tax incurred.

Revenue rose 22.96% to RM104.7mil from RM85.15mil, on the back of higher output and higher sales.
