KUALA LUMPUR: Chip makers and tech-related stocks held on to most of their gains at the close on Wednesday as sustained interest was buoyed by the strong demand for chips.
At 5pm, the FBM KLCI was up 2.5 points or 0.16% to 1,582.99. Turnover was 6.09 billion shares valued at RM4.93bil. The overall market fared better as there were 736 gainers, 427 losers and 429 counters unchanged.
MPI rose to a fresh high of RM35.94, adding RM1.64 and making it the top gainer of the day.
UWC added 64 sen to RM13.02, Vitrox 62 sen to RM17.40, Greatec 55 sen to RM6.25, Dufu 45 sen to RM4.25 and KESM36 sen to RM16.78.
