Jamaludin Ibrahim appointed to Sunway's board

KUALA LUMPUR (March 3): Sunway Bhd has appointed QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd chairman Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim as an independent director effective today.

It has also appointed him as a member of its audit committee, the property and construction group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Jamaludin, 62, has more than 40 years of business experience, including about 16 years in information technology and 23 years in telecommunications.

He retired from Axiata Group Bhd on Dec 31, 2020, having been the company's managing director/president and group chief executive officer for almost 13 years since its inception in 2008.

Sunway said Jamaludin was appointed by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as a member of the country's Economic Action Council in March last year.

In November 2020, he was appointed as a member of Digital Economy and Fourth Industrial Revolution Council.
