另一个「情绪垃圾桶理论」则是因为在生活中感受到太多压力而借此宣泄。每个人的宣泄情绪的方式不同，有些人可能会透过看剧、有些人可能会透过打球来抒发情绪，因此，也会有人是透过批评对方来排解现实生活中难以排解的情绪压力，或是借此暂时逃避现实生活中不想面对的事情。

社会认同提升了内心安全感

这可能是为了「博取社会认同感」，其实跟西瓜偎大边的道理一样。海苔熊指出，当因为酸某个人而得到大多数人的支持时，人们就会感受到安全感。
