SINGAPORE: Singapore and Malaysia have agreed to strengthen cooperation on renewable energy, says Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
"Singapore and Malaysia are both moving towards a low-carbon and sustainable future. We are pursuing cross-border electricity trading, which will be a win-win for both countries,” he said at a joint press conference with his Malaysian counterpart Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today.
Clean energy expert, Solarvest Holdings Berhad (“Solarvest” or the “Group”) is embarking on strategic initiatives to expand its geographical reach into the Singapore and Brunei markets to capitalise on the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions. This includes a synergetic collaboration with Singapore partners to advance energy storage solutions (“ESS”) development in solar energy systems for enhanced energy stability and reliability.
New energy players
Malaysia will continue to expand its electric vehicle charging infrastructure and encourage EV adoption through rebates, which will help players such as Yinson Holdings Bhd. It will also increase the installation of solar panels, including at government premises, in partnership with Tenaga Nasional Bhd.
