Farhash Wafa emerges as major shareholder in HeiTech Padu

KUALA LUMPUR: The Prime Minister's former political secretary Datuk Farhash Wafa Salvador has emerged as a major shareholder in HeiTech Padu Bhd, with a 15.9 per cent stake in the company.

In filings with Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd, HeiTech said Farhash is deeemed interested through the acquisiton of shares by Rosetta Partners Sdn Bhd.

Rosetta Partners bought 16.1 million shares in the company on Mar 11 and 12, 2024 through direct business transactions.

Heitech said the date of notice of change in shareholding was on Mar 13, 2024 and it received the notice on Mar 14, 2024.

The announcement comes days after MY E.G. Services Bhd's unit MY E.G. Capital Sdn Bhd announced that it took a strategic stake of 14.4 per cent interest in HeiTech for RM31 million.

It has since raised its stake to 15.889 per cent.

A business weekly, quoting sources, recently reported that HeiTech is believed to be on a shortlist for the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) project.

The NIISe project is up for grabs after the Home Affairs Ministry terminated a RM1.12 billion award to Iris Corp Bhd's unit Iris Information Technology Systems Sdn Bhd, to develop the new immigration system.

HeiTech on March 12, 2024 announced that bagged a RM13.1 million contract extension to provide maintenance services for Malaysian Immigration System, MyIMMs.

Heitech Padu's share price closed unchanged at RM2.43 a share yesterday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM245.98 million.
