another peer is MENTIGA also this year started to plan new durian plantation in Jerantut, Pahang.
3 main problems:
1. entire new plantation need min 6 years to see profit.
2. stock is not volatile and inactive.
3. big shareholder is Pahang state gov.
eric, u are right, PLS is faster and more advantage than MENTIGA.
PLS durian biz model is more complete, from plantation, food processing, supply chain and distribution. remove the middleman profit. also have other fruits as alternative. lets wait their next annual report to see more details.
yukata, even they brought musang king seed to china, they need other requirement such as soil type, drains and weather. even though china's technology is advance and they can develop artificiality. now china largest durian import country is still thailand, but all of us know thailand durian buaysai. i think biz still profit as long as china didnt block malaysia durian, and / or china didnt introduce strong policy to encourage durian plantation such as subsidize / tax reduce / state direct invest
